Effective Date: June 21, 2025
Thank you for using URL Redirector (the "Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains our unwavering commitment to your privacy. The Extension has been engineered from the ground up to be a powerful tool that operates without collecting or accessing any of your personal data.
1. We Collect No Data
URL Redirector is a 100% client-side application. This means all logic and data processing happens locally on your computer, within your browser. We do not have any servers, and we do not collect, store, share, or transmit any of your information. This includes:
- Your redirection rules
- Your browsing history or the URLs you visit
- Your IP address, location, or any other personal identifiers
- Analytics or usage statistics
2. How Your Data is Handled
- Rule Storage: Your redirection rules are saved using the `chrome.storage.sync` API. This data is stored locally on your machine and synced across your devices via your own Google account. We never have access to this data.
- Redirection Engine: The Extension uses Chrome's `declarativeNetRequest` API. This is a modern, privacy-first technology that tells the browser how to handle redirections. It allows the browser to perform the redirection itself without the Extension needing to read or intercept your web traffic, ensuring maximum performance and privacy.
3. Permissions Explained
During installation, the Extension requests the minimum permissions necessary for it to function:
- `storage`: Required to save your rules using the `chrome.storage` API.
- `declarativeNetRequest`: Required to apply your redirection rules to web requests at the browser level.
These permissions are used solely for the core functionality of the extension as described.
4. Changes to This Privacy Policy
As we do not collect any personal data, we do not anticipate major changes to this policy. However, if future updates require changes, we will post them on this page with an updated effective date.
